Ear Training Part 4 – Broken Triads Drill

In this final part of the ear training drill we will be doing BROKEN TRIADS and what this means is that we will be breaking each diatonic triad of whatever key we are in as well as singing according to it using the number system.

Here we go;

C major triad = Press C-E-G | Sing 1-3-5

D minor triad = Press D-F-A | Sing 2-4-6

E minor triad = Press E-G-B | Sing 3-5-7

F major triad = Press F-A-C | Sing 4-6-1

G major triad = Press G-B-D | Sing 5-7-2

A minor triad = Press A-C-E |Sing 6-1-3

B diminished triad = Press B-D-F |Sing 7-2-4

C major triad = Press C-E-G | Sing 1-3-5 (high)

Finally let’s do this in a descending manner…

C major triad = Press C-E-G | Sing 1-3-5 (high)

B diminished triad = Press B-D-F |Sing 7-2-4

A minor triad = Press A-C-E |Sing 6-1-3

G major triad = Press G-B-D | Sing 5-7-2

F major triad = Press F-A-C | Sing 4-6-1

E minor triad = Press E-G-B | Sing 3-5-7

D minor triad = Press D-F-A | Sing 2-4-6

C major triad = Press C-E-G | Sing 1-3-5
